FAQ
Season #3 runs March 26–29, 2027 · Applications now open
Founders, operators, investors, technologists, creatives and community builders who want meaningful connections beyond one-off networking events. The room isn't sorted by job title — it's built where industries overlap. Health tech sits beside wellness, an exited founder beside a musician, an engineer beside a community builder, and most people here are two or three of those at once. That overlap is deliberate: the conversations that actually move something rarely happen inside your own lane, they happen at the edges where one field borrows from another. Choosing IRL World is a decision to level up on purpose — to stop leaving who you meet and what you learn to chance, and to put yourself in rooms that are further along than the one you're in now, every month rather than once a year.
We don't hand out a guest list — the room is curated, not published. What we can tell you is how it gets built: Amber takes a 30-minute call with every applicant, one to one, and turns people away when they aren't a fit for the room you'd be joining. That filter is why a room of 100 stays worth your year. The people you'll meet are founders and operators scaling from $500K to $100M ARR, exited founders, investors and VCs, and people who've already built something and are working on the next one — usually a stage or two past where you are now, which is the point: the next level you're aiming for, sitting within arm's reach. You can see a sample of that standard on the Community page. If you want to know whether you'd fit the room, that's what the call is for — bring your goals and we'll tell you honestly.
Six-month membership includes one four-day residency and 2 curated introductions each month (12 total). Annual membership includes 12 months, two residencies in March and September, and 4 curated introductions each month (48 total). Annual members also get first pick of their home base, bring-a-friend privileges, workshop hosting and the VIP secret tech garden party. Both include monthly online sessions with mentors and special guests, member lunches, dinners and experiences (6 events over six months or 12 over a year), priority free event access, Slack access for the length of your membership and priority renewal.
The day you join. You get immediate access to the Slack community, monthly online sessions, curated introductions and member-only dinners and experiences — the residency follows in late March, and late September too if you're on the annual plan.
Monthly curated introductions, online IRL World sessions, and member-only lunches, dinners and experiences. Those run in cities across Australia at central venues — exact venues are shared when you register for each event via Luma. Lunches, dinners and experiences are one monthly benefit in both plans, with seating curated for relevant connections. Both memberships include monthly online sessions hosted on Gatheround, with mentors and special guests, breakout rooms and speed friending.
It depends — you get out what you put in. We recommend a minimum of three to four hours a month: the online session, a lunch, dinner or experience, and your curated introductions, a coffee virtual or in person whenever suits you.
We introduce you by email. It's opt-in on both sides — you're never obliged to accept an intro. If you both say yes, we share your booking link with them and theirs with you (we collect yours when you onboard), and encourage you to put a coffee in the diary, virtual or in person. That's the point of IRL: going deeper and actually getting to know someone, rather than swapping messages online and never speaking again.
The rooms that change your trajectory are the curated ones. IRL World runs member dinners and experiences every month, monthly curated introductions, online sessions and a four-day residency twice a year — all within a deliberately small community of 100 personally-interviewed spots per season, rather than a room of strangers with lanyards.
No. Monthly lunches, dinners and experiences run in cities right across Australia, hosted by Amber, an expert or a local city lead — so there's a table near you wherever you're based. The residency is the one trip, and a private coach transfer from the Melbourne CBD is included.
Founders, operators, investors and creatives from across Australia — you can browse member profiles on the Community page. Every member has been personally interviewed, because the room is the product.
The wider IRL network is 5,000+ people — the community Amber has built through events across Australia. Membership itself is deliberately small: 100 spots per season across six houses, each member personally interviewed. You can meet some of the faces on the Community page.
Yes. Your Slack access runs for the length of your membership — six or twelve months. Priority renewal means you get first option to continue before your term ends, so you can keep the community going if you want to.
Four days across six houses and six themes, with 30+ mentors, speakers and events. Membership includes priority queen-room accommodation, meals, your choice of home base house (annual members choose first), and transport to and from the residency. Annual members also get the VIP secret tech garden party on the last day of each residency.
Season #3 runs March 26–29, 2027, about an hour out of Melbourne — past locations include Mount Martha and Torquay. A private coach transfer from the Melbourne CBD is included. Annual membership also includes the September residency, September 26–29, 2027.
The residency is our flagship experience and comes as part of membership — it's not sold separately. Every membership includes at least one four-day residency, plus the year-round community around it.
Launch House (founders & operators), Pulse House (creatives, content & music), Sandbox House (tech & AI builders), Powerhouse (investors & VCs), Harmony House (health & wellness leaders) and Connect House (community builders). Annual members get first pick of their home base house; six-month members choose after them.
Past residencies have run in Torquay and Mount Martha, Victoria — about an hour out of Melbourne, with a private coach transfer from the CBD included. The six houses sit close together, within a 2–10 minute walk of each other, so another house for a session, a dinner or a late conversation is a short walk rather than a drive.
No. You pick a home base house for the four days — your anchor, your people, your daily programming — but sessions and events across all six houses are open to every member, so you're free to wander in and out whenever something pulls you.
Each house sleeps 6–14 people, so a house stays small enough to feel like a house rather than a hotel. All six are luxury houses — you're staying in beautiful homes, not conference rooms — and every membership includes priority queen-room accommodation.
Mornings are choose-your-own-flow — yoga, breathwork or morning builds. Midday brings hands-on workshops and demos across the houses, afternoons are side quests — hackathons, creative sessions, beach walks — and evenings are community dinners and the late-night conversations people remember most. See the full rhythm on the Residency page.
Every membership starts with a call. We personally interview every applicant because the room is the product — we're curating a community of exceptional people across tech, startups, creative and investment. If it's a mutual fit, you'll be offered a place in the upcoming season.
A private coach transfer from the Melbourne CBD is included in every membership, so you can arrive interstate or locally with ease. Members fly in from across Australia — the coach takes care of the last leg.
Annual members can bring a +1 to any member experience or event. This privilege excludes the residencies themselves. We also run a referral program: refer a friend and you'll get 10% of their membership price back on your own purchase.
Annual members can be considered to host a workshop at one residency. This is subject to alignment and approval, at our sole discretion, and is not guaranteed.
Explore the packages on the membership page, then book a call — we'll walk you through the options and pricing to figure out the right fit for you together.
Memberships are non-refundable. Your membership goes straight toward executing the residency and experiences, so costs are allocated from the moment you join.
Tell us as soon as you can and we'll roll your spot to the next season. The membership itself stays non-refundable — costs are allocated to running the residency from the moment you join — but if life gets in the way, your place isn't lost.
No. The public schedule is fully visible so prospective guests can explore before purchasing. Tickets unlock onboarding and registration.
